Poetry: Emerald Eden

“Emerald Eden”- J.Adam Snyder (inspired by living in the Pacific Northwest)

Fir trees scrape the sky
Rain blankets the land
Rivers run wild
Hills roll like mad

Gentle sun rays
Pierce through the gloom
Grey skies oppress the light
The moon shines bright and cool

Nature is the rule
Birds sing of her desire
Over the enchanting emerald sea
That the wolves admire

Tolerant and tranquil
Are the people who steward this garden
Seeking to live in harmony
Without pollution’s pardon

This Eden of the West
With majestic coastal cliffs
Brings pleasure to the senses
Of God’s glorious green bliss
